I am a big fan of snacking. When on-the-go I always carry a bar with me and Grab the Gold snack bars are a great plant-based, nutritious option!
Ideally, not going longer than 3-4 hours without eating something so that you avoid the “hangry” stage where you’re so hungry, you’re angry. Once you are that hungry, it is hard to make good food decisions. Your body just wants whatever is fast and easy versus a balanced and nutritious meal, or you might eat too fast and bypass comfortable fullness because you are so ravenous.
Either way, snacking is a great way to fill in the gaps between meals and provide your body with a steady energy stream. Ideally each snack contains a protein or fat source in order to help with satiety and keeping you satisfied until your next meal.
For instance, if you are snacking on a piece of fruit, pair it with some nut butter (fat) or Greek yogurt (protein) for a more balanced snack and longer lasting energy. Make your own trail mix is another good option so you can control the portion size and the contents, using a mix of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and a little sweetness (chocolate, coconut, etc.).
For snacking on the go, I almost always carry some sort of bar with me just in case. I never know when hunger may strike and I like to be prepared! There are a lot of packaged snack options out there and I know it can be very overwhelming to know what items to choose.

Snacking is not a bad thing! Providing steady energy to your body and can help to avoid overeating at meals. It’s important to aim for some protein or fat with snacks, or fiber (fruit) can be beneficial in promoting satiety.
These look like a great snack option for busy days at work or while out on a long run!
I love that these are GF! And I’m with you, I always have some sort of snack in my bag or purse!
